Houston Chronicle: QSR Industry Grows in Houston

Checkers & Rally's, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes and Smoothie King all see potential for growth in the market.

Houston was recently ranked in the top 10 cities to open a quick service restaurant by industry publication QSR Magazine.

The ranking, based on data collected by NPD Group, supports the goals of MOOYAH Burgers, Fries and Shakes to add 15 to 25 restaurants in the Houston market in upcoming years.

"We feel the Houston market has a lot of similarities in demographics to our home market of Dallas-Fort Worth, where we currently have 23 units," Jordan Duran, director of franchise sales told the Houston Chronicle. "It's a great fit for our brand because of its population, high household incomes and large family sizes."

The ranking, based on data collected by NPD Group, supports the goals of Checkers* and Rally's as it has plans to open more than 20 restaurants in the Houston market this year and supports the goals of Smoothie King as it has plans to open 15 restaurants in the market in upcoming years.
