Checkers Finally Coming to New England
Change in distribution partners opens up new avenues for burger brand.
Whether you wanted to enjoy a Checkers* burger or open up a Checkers franchise, if you lived in Rhode Island, you were out of luck. However, thanks to a change in distribution partners at the tail end of 2014, that’s no longer the case.
Jennifer Durham, vice president of franchise development for Checkers and Rally’s restaurants, recently told Rhode Island’s WPRO the brand is eyeing Little Rhody for a new location. In short, residents of The Ocean State may no longer have to make a run to New York to enjoy everything Checkers has to offer.
“Since we made that change in distribution our focus has been to grow the New England market more aggressively,” Durham told WPRO. She went on to say the brand hopes to have a Checkers open in Rhode Island by this time next year.
