Newsday: Philly Pretzel Factory eyes further expansion on Long Island, Bellmore store open
Philly Pretzel Factory, the Philadelphia-based pretzel franchise, is expanding outside of its home state.
Philly Pretzel Factory, whose name you may recognize after it broke the Internet with the Tim Tebow pretzel, is now planning to execute its “world pretzel domination” strategy.
In an interview with Newsday, Chief Development Officer of Philly Pretzel Factory Tom Monaghan explained the brand’s short-term expansion plan for Long Island.
"We want dozens, and we want to have a location within 10 minutes of where everyone on Long Island lives,” he said.
Monaghan said that plans are already in the works for these new sites, and that the brand already has an idea of where the new locations may be.
“For competitive reasons, we aren't releasing that information yet,” he told Newsday.
The Philadelphia-based chain has 158 locations in 11 states. By 2020, it expects to have 500 franchised locations, as well as an international presence. The first store outside the states is scheduled to open in Nassau, Bahamas sometime this summer.
