As a certified general contractor, Glen Harris spent years building his own successful business in Southwest Florida. But in order to expand his reach and continue to grow across the region, Harris knew he needed to be a part of a larger organization. In order to make that mission a reality without losing ownership of his business, he decided to join Alair’s proven and rapidly growing franchise system.

“Being a part of the Alair team gives me a major competitive advantage. It’s great to be a part of an established system that’s already created the wheel when it comes to structure,” said Harris. “Instead of going it alone, being an Alair franchisee allows me to lean on both corporate leaders and other general contractors that have even more experience than me. That ultimately helps my business evolve and grow.”

Alair is currently in rapid growth mode in target markets across the U.S. One of those markets is Southwest Florida, where Harris is in the process of merging his small business with the brand’s franchise system. And since signing on to become an Alair franchisee at the end of July, Harris is already starting to see the benefits of becoming a part of a recognized brand name.

“Traditionally, when contractors go into new construction projects there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered. But that’s not the case with Alair,” said Harris. “Their system is completely transparent. That means they do design and estimation on the front end of a project, eliminating unexpected problems or roadblocks down the line. Their approach to the entire construction process is a lot smoother than anything I’ve ever experienced, and I’m excited to start incorporating it into my business.”

With local business owners like Harris bringing Alair to new communities and clients, the brand is positioned to maintain its impressive expansion rate. The brand’s custom building and remodeling services make the construction process much simpler for both customers and franchisees.

“Training is a huge part of what Alair does—they really focus on preparing their franchisees to be the best possible contractors and project managers for their clients. I can’t stress the importance of that enough. As a small business owner, it’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day activities involved with building and running a business. But with Alair’s support system and proven model, we’re able to let those things go,” Harris said.
