Albany Times Union: Dairy Queen Targets Albany as Part of Strategic Expansion Initiative in New York

The brand could open the first of 15 planned units in the area as early as next summer.

As part of its expansion plans for the state of New York, the Dairy Queen*® brand is eyeing Albany and the greater Capital Region for addition of multiple DQ Grill & Chill® locations. 

In a recent interview with the Times Union, VP of franchise development Jim Kerr said that as early as next summer, the area could see the brand open the first of 15 planned units. 

“The area is very promising,” Kerr said. “We tend to be a brand that attracts families, but we also attract across demographic lines and income lines.”
