Memphis-based sub franchise, Lennys Grill & Subs, has named Spartanburg and the Upstate as a target for its development plans in the state. The franchise is hoping to add a location in the area as soon as next summer, Lennys Grill & Subs VP of Market and Franchise Development Bob Ritter tells the Spartanburg Herald-Journal.

"We have a presence in Atlanta and Charlotte, and Spartanburg is in the middle, so it makes sense for us,” said Ritter, who has been with the company for two years. “We feel it could be a really great spot for us. I think the state is primed and ready for the Lennys franchise.”

If Ritter and Lennys are able to track down a franchisee soon, Spartanburg could be hosting its first Lennys Grill & Subs by June or July of 2017.
