Crain’s: McDonald’s Testing Sriracha Big Mac

The limited-time offer Sriracha Big Mac is just one of CEO Steve’s Easterbrooks attempts to modernize and transform the burger company

Those who are sriracha crazy may just have to trek to one of the 126 McDonald’s locations in central Ohio to try McDonald’s latest limited-time offer. According to Crains’s, McDonad’s will be serving it’s original Big Mac, but topped with their “Big Mac special sauce” infused with Sriracha. Consumers will also be able to use the sauce a la carte for dipping. The new burger is set to be available through the end of 2016.

“We're always trying new creations, and we wanted to innovate with an on-trend flavor like Sriracha to give our customers in Columbus a new and exciting taste,” said Oak Brook-based McDonald's Chef Mike Haracz, in a statement.

This isn’t McDonald’s first time to test a product before rolling it out nationwide. Just this spring, the burger company tested out  a supersized Big Mac, as well as a downsized version. After success with these tests, the company plans to offer them nationwide in early 2017.
