Franchise Times: Freshii Expands Down Under, Inks Walgreens Partnership

Freshii makes major plans for expansion within the U.S. and abroad.

At the beginning of December, Freshii made two game-changing announcements, reports Franchise Times. One, that they scored a master franchise agreement that will add 20 locations in Australia. And two, that they also penned a new retail partnership with Walgreens. The Toronto-based fast casual brand that focuses on healthy food already has a similar partnership with Target.

Freshii plans for all 20 new Australian locations to be open by the end of 2017, with its first locations in the city of Perth.

“We are thrilled to bring nutrition-packed food made quickly to the community,” Damjanovic told Franchise Times of his plans in Australia. “There has been a void in the fast food market here in Australia, and I predict guests will clamor to our energizing eats. I know Perth is ready to make friends with quinoa and kale and meet Freshii’s superfood-filled menu.”

The fast casual restaurant currently has up to 20 locations in Walgreens, but predicts that there will be more than 300 Freshii locations in Walgreens stores by the end of 2016.
