Franchisee Voices: Page Nichol of FranNet
Page Nichol joined FranNet to help others on their path to business ownership.

After a career at Mail Boxes, Etc., Page Nichol got his introduction into franchising. Soon after, he was the developer of 65 UPS locations. When looking for a change in career, he came across FranNet, and found the business model unique.

FranNet was the only company doing this at the time. I decided that instead of selling franchises that I wanted to consult people, and help them become their own business owners,” said Nichol.

Communication with his clients at FranNet has been key. In fact, his communication landed him the Commitment to Excellence award with the brand.

“I love helping people get to a decision about business ownership that they are comfortable with, by coaching them through the process,” said Nichol.

Tell us a little bit about your background.

I was born and raised in San Diego and went to the University of San Diego. I went into commercial real estate and became an agent. My family and I bought into Mail Boxes Etc. and I became a master developer. I built UPS stores and was a developer of 65 locations. UPS was my introduction into franchising. I got introduced to FranNet in 1998 and got involved with the Southern California area. I began to grow with my brother, Blair, in Southern California and Pacific Northwest.

Please elaborate on winning the Commitment to Excellence Award? How do you think you got to this point?

This award is chosen by the franchisors for the person who they feel is really good at communication and understanding how they work with clients. One of the things I pride myself in is staying in close communications with my client and franchisors.

What are some of the trends that you are seeing in the area?

There is a lot of interest in more passive retail concepts where people can continue their day jobs while still owning the business. There’s niche fitness and food. Categories where there is competition but the franchisors found a niche around their brand to make them unique – i.e. GYMGUYZ.
