TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, a national, full-service moving franchise with more than 430 locations, demonstrates a strong commitment to Moving People Forward® and leverages opportunities to do so both within its system and beyond. In addition to supporting its customers in their life transitions and lifting dedicated team members up within the network, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK gives back to the community with donation drives and fundraising campaigns. This year, it donated $45,618 to its long-time partner, Convoy of Hope.

“We have partnered with Convoy of Hope since 2018, donating 10 cents from every move,” said Randy Shacka, president of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. “This year, we were able to donate more than $45,000 from 2023 moves alone, bringing our lifetime contributions to over $470,000. Convoy of Hope does incredible work worldwide to feed children, empower women and support communities who have experienced disasters, and we are deeply honored to be able to support their mission.”

Since 1994, Convoy of Hope has served more than 259 million people across 130 countries. The organization has served 713 million meals since it was founded and has empowered over 148,000 women and girls since 2010.

“As a nonprofit humanitarian organization, Convoy works alongside communities to bring solutions to the root causes of poverty and hunger,” the nonprofit’s website explains. “Convoy of Hope’s strategically designed programs unlock capacity for growth and are fueled by kindness. They are multifaceted. Holistic. Life-changing.”

In all of its giving efforts, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK leverages resources it already has on hand. In a system as wide-reaching and fast growing as TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s, a seemingly small donation from each job completed can add up quickly and make a major impact. However, its 10-cents-per-move donation is not the only contribution the brand makes to Convoy of Hope.

Local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK businesses have also mobilized their own resources to support the transportation and distribution of supplies to disaster relief sites across the country, further supporting Convoy of Hope’s impact.

Throughout its existence, Convoy of Hope has addressed more than 700 disasters globally, with 38 of those occurring within the United States in 2023 alone. Last year, it responded to wildfires in the northwest, flooding in the northeast, tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma, and hurricanes in Florida — just to name a few. An important aspect of disaster relief is short-term support for community members in need of food, clean water, and hygiene items, and in some cases, the act of getting these items to the people in need is one of the first hurdles.

Availability of resources like transportation and personnel are noted as “a big problem” for some disaster relief efforts, and when local TWO MEN AND A TRUCK owners step up to further support Convoy of Hope’s distribution efforts, the barrier to relief is lowered significantly.

With plans to continue its aggressive growth in 2024, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK will further impact its communities, both through its ongoing partnership with Convoy of Hope and other efforts like Movers for Mutts®, Movers for Meals®, Movers for Military®, Truckload of Warmth® and Movers for Moms®.
