TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, the national, full-service franchised moving company with more than 430 locations, is looking to hire 5,000 employees to meet the needs of a growing customer base in 2024. Last year, the brand hired nearly 19,000 new employees throughout its franchise network, 4,382 of whom joined the team between February and April. This year, the goal is to hire another large group of team members in preparation for the busy moving months ahead.

“This year we have three major themes for Career Move Season, which is a hiring initiative to help bring on talented individuals,” explained Chelsea Grzegorczyk, human resources project manager for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK. “One is giving back to the community — that’s February’s theme. March is moving forward in your career, and April is coming together as a team because a lot of our employees make work fun and even hang out outside of work.”

While the majority of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK hires during Career Move Season are movers and drivers, franchisees across the nation need support for their entire operations. Many locations will also hire customer service representatives, recruiters, office managers, operations managers and bookkeepers.

“We have a variety of roles that people might not normally associate with a moving company,” said Sara Bennett, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s chief talent officer. “There are both professional roles and those frontline positions, but one thing that franchisees are always looking for is people who have the potential to be strong managers. It doesn’t have to be someone who has a ton of management experience, but people who can lead others and can set themselves up to be able to grow in their role or into franchise ownership.”

Growth opportunities are valued at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, which is why one in three franchisees started as frontline employees, and more than 75 percent of TWO MEN AND A TRUCK managers began elsewhere in the company and worked their way up.

Job seekers who genuinely want to help others and are ready to take advantage of opportunities for personal and professional development are a great fit for the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK system. The franchise is dedicated to Moving People Forward®, and supports its employees with opportunities to give back to the communitydevelop new skills, participate in additional training, and even apply for a scholarship program to support their journey into franchise ownership. A new job with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is more than a seasonal employment opportunity; for many people, the franchise system offers the launchpad for a meaningful career.

“It’s not just a job. We have a new moving slogan: We’re More Than Just a Truck. I would say that we’re more than just a job as well,” explained Leah Ciolek, recruiting and retention team lead for the brand. “I can’t tell you how many long-lasting friendships I’ve built in my years of working at the franchise. I consider myself family with everybody that’s around me. When you join the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK team, you’re not getting a job. You’re finding a community and your family of choice, and you’re helping that community really become a part of something bigger.”

“We’re looking for all of the basic skills that you would typically see in a job description, but the people who really stand out to me are those who want to help others,” said Bennett. “They problem solve, have customer service skills and are intrinsically motivated to do a good job. The people that I work with want to help other people, whether that’s our customers, their coworkers, or their community — that’s the common thread.”
