Applebee's & IHOP See Sales Boost in Off-Premise Sales

Off-premise dining sales increased by 37 percent in Q3 for Applebee’s and 35 percent for IHOP.

Dine brands, the parent company of Applebee's and IHOP, has reported strong sales for Q3. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, this comes as a result of the increase of sales in off-premise dining for both brands. For Applebee’s these sales reportedly grew by 37 percent throughout the quarter while IHOP reported a 35 percent growth.

“While the vast majority of our current off-premise business is to-go, we anticipate delivery being offered in almost a thousand restaurants by year-end in addition to our emerging catering business. From my perspective, no brand is better positioned than Applebee’s to capitalize on off-premise demand as we fully expect our off-premise business to double from 10% to 20% of total sales over the next few years,” said John Cywinski, Applebee’s president.

IHOP has also recently partnered with DoorDash to further accommodate off-premise dining.
