Parents say competition rewards students and gives them confidence

More than 70 Katy elementary and middle school students competed in the first ever Best in Class Year-End Math and English Competition.

Six winners were awarded to students in each grade level. Best in Class franchisee Ira Giri said it was the parents who wanted to give their children an experience and learning process at the end of the year.

"Rather than giving them trophies when nobody is looking during the year, this really rewards them and gives them more confidence," Giri says.
