CSPnet.com: Checkers & Rally's Takes To Twitter To Earn Best Hot Dog Title

The iconic brand is promoting its hot dogs, which have been on the menu for more than 30 years.

Following 7-Eleven's lead, Checkers & Rally's is challenging Burger King’s hot dog launch, according to CSPnet.com. The dual-branded quick-service restaurant (QSR) company took out an ad in USA Today saying, “Hey Burger King, It’s Time to Compare Wieners.”

The social media hashtag being used is #wienersmackdown.

Miami-based Burger King is offering its hot dogs for $1.99. Checkers & Rally's is offering its hot dogs for 79 cents “to remind the world that Checkers & Rally's has been cooking up hand-grilled hot dogs made with 100% beef for more than 30 years.”

The c-store retailer is encouraging fans to join the conversation online using #hotdogdemocracy to tell how they top their Big Bite hot dogs.

Based in Tampa, Florida, Checkers & Rally's Restaurants Inc., a drive-thru restaurant chain, has more than 800 restaurants.
