CNBC: President proposes more overtime pay

Back Yard Burgers CEO Dave McDougall comments on proposed rule.

Last week, President Obama detailed a proposed rule that would increase eligibility for overtime wages nationwide. Dave McDougall, CEO of better-burger franchise Back Yard Burgers, appeared on CNBC’s Power Lunch to weigh in on the rule.

McDougall urged viewers to consider factors including healthcare benefits, vacation time and bonus structures when forming an opinion regarding the new overtime rule.

“Business has been good,” McDougall said. “We had a very good first half of the year and I’m optimistic about the second half of the year.”
