Crain’s Cleveland Business: Lube Stop is Acquired By Charlotte-Based Driven Brands Inc.

Roark Capital Group and Driven Brands Inc. acquired Lube Stop to add to a portfolio of automotive service brands.

The Charlotte-based franchisor, Driven Brands Inc., now has one more automotive service brand in their portfolio. According to a recent Crain’s Cleveland Business article, the company, which is owned by Atlanta private equity firm Roark Capital Group, has acquired Berea-based Lube Stop.

Across three Midwest states, Lube Stop operates 51 quick oil change locations. This acquisition will grow the Driven Brands’ Quick Lube division, which also includes Pro Oil Change, Take 5 Oil Change, and Driven Florida Lubes.

Lube Stop has been a part of a series of acquisitions recently, as the company acquired Oil Wizard in March and was acquired by Argone Capital Group in September 2014.

"The addition of Lube Stop strengthens our commitment to the strategic growth of our Quick Lube division with top-performing, complementary companies," said Jonathan Fitzpatrick, CEO of Driven Brands, in a news release. "Lube Stop is a great addition to our portfolio as it has remained an industry leader for more than 30 years, due in large part to its customer-first premise and stellar operations."
