Scottsdale Independent: Honest-1 Auto Care Reaches Women, Families

Auto repair shop focuses on providing fair and honest service.

Kristen Steward was instantly impressed when she visited Honest-1 Auto Care for the first time. She and her husband were so intrigued by the clean, family-friendly approach that they began looking into franchise opportunities and settled on opening a shop in Paradise Valley. The Stewards are have now been part of the Honest-1 system, which boasts nearly 70 shops nationwide, for five years.

It's easy to see why the parents of four were so drawn to Honest-1. Majority of the shops have child play areas, refreshments and leather furniture in the waiting room. The brand has also experienced rapid success, as proven through recent honors. Honest-1 was ranked first in the auto category on Entrepreneur's 500 list as well as the only automotive brand featured in the Franchise Times list of top 40 fastest-growing brands.

On top of its unit growth, Honest-1's success comes down to its model geared toward customer satisfaction, outreach and education.

“We’re more into educating our customer vs trying to sell something,” Honest-1 Executive Vice President Eric Renninger told The Scottsdale Independent “We’d rather educate you about what your manufacturer said about your car or what your current condition is, and let you make those decisions based upon your life and your cash flow.”

The Paradise Valley shop goes beyond educating their customers and focuses on community involvement. Steward speaks to the importance of giving back, which she has done through breast cancer awareness and school supply drives.

“The more you touch a community the more you’re thought of being a value, especially in an industry that is questioned a lot of times,” she said. “The more you’re out and you’re doing things that are of value, like helping people, then your business becomes of value too.”
