Associated Press: Miracle Method Finds Success with Baby Boomer Demographic

Marketing Manager Erin Gilliam attributes high percentage of company's growth to baby boomer client base

As the baby boomer demographic becomes more committed to remaining in their own homes as they age, the home remodeling industry is expecting significant growth. As the trend known as "aging in place" grows, according to the Associated Press, home remodelers say they've had a pickup in projects from boomers who are seeking to modify their houses.

Miracle Method, a franchise business that refinishes kitchens and bathrooms, has increased its outreach to boomers according to Erin Gilliam, the company's marketing manager. Gilliam told the Associated Press that the franchise owners said much of the 11 percent growth in the overall business in the past year of Miracle Method was driven by boomers.

Gilliam's husband, Gabriel, said he sees the trend in the franchise he owns in Salt Lake City. He estimated that revenue from boomers has risen between 10 and 20 percent and the growth is leading him to hire more workers. He has five staffers now, having added one per month the past three months, and expects to reach 10 in the next year.

"I'm hiring as quickly as I can," he says.
