The 8 | June 16, 2017

The top eight things you probably didn’t need to know about franchising this week.

1. Frantastic: There’s no shortage of Frantastic brands—and Frantastic people—at IFE 2017. From non-restaurant concepts that are on the rise to established restaurant brands, the exhibitors in New York are all working to stay ahead of the curve and the latest industry trends. And if you’re walking the floor and want to know which brands are a must see, look for 1851’s Best of the Best sign at their booth.

2. Franlebrity: The real Franlebrities at shows like IFE are the prospective franchisees. Not only do they have the opportunity to walk the floor and learn about different concepts, but they also have the chance to discover a business ownership option that has the potential to change their life. These prospective owners will ultimately help drive the franchising industry forward in the months and years ahead.

3. Frash Money: Item 19 is the darling when it comes to understanding how much Frash Money you can potentially make when you invest with a specific brand as well as how much it’ll cost to get involved with a franchise concept. Understanding those two things will help candidates make the most out of their future business.

4. Frant of the Week: In this week’s Frant, No Limit Agency* CEO Nick Powills explains why the franchise buying process is going to take longer. Between unemployment and the current political climate, prospective franchisees are taking their time to do their due diligence before making the leap to actually invest. And in order for brands to stand out to candidates and be a part of that buying process, they’re going to have to be creative with their messaging.

5. Franch Forward: The prospective franchisees at IFE 2017 are new to the industry. So in order for them to Franch Forward, they need to focus in on the one brand that they believe will be the best fit for them. It’s difficult to break into the industry while trying to diversify your portfolio at the same time or take on multiple units. But by getting to know the ins and outs of one specific concept, franchisees are able to make a more informed decision.

6. Fran Funny: FranElmo. Enough said.

7. Franspiration: For those walking the floor at IFE, it’s important to keep an open mind. When it comes to deciding what franchise is the best fit for you, it may not be the biggest or most obvious choice in the segment. There are 500 franchise concepts at IFE alone, meaning that there are numerous opportunities for prospective owners to find the franchise that capitalizes on their strengths.

8. Franemies vs. Frands: Shout out to IFE for being a great Frand this week. Be on the lookout for tons of interviews live from the show on 1851, and check out our Facebook page for ongoing live coverage. And if you’re in New York at the show, swing by 1851’s booth for an interview!
