CNBC: McDonald’s Is Gearing up to Sell Ready-To-Drink Coffee

McDonald's plans to partner with Coca-Cola to sell ready-to-drink coffee in retail stores.

McDonald’s is ready to take on Starbucks and Dunkin in the ready-to-drink coffee scene. According to a recent CNBC article, McDonald’s will be partnering with Coca-Cola to launch its line of bottled McCafe Frappe drinks in 2018 in the U.S. So far, the space has been dominated by the Starbucks and Pepsi partnership, with Dunkin Donuts joining earlier this year.

"This is just the start of our McCafé commitment," said Chris Kempczinski, president of McDonald's USA. "We understand how important the coffee culture is for consumers and we are committed to meeting that demand at the taste, convenience and value only McDonald's can offer."

Flavors of the McCafe Frappe will include Mocha, Caramel and Vanilla for the company’s first bottled product. The brand has benefited from offering lower pricing than competitors with its current coffee beverages in stores but has not announced pricing for the bottles beverages just yet.
