1851 Franchise: How did you fall into franchising?

Noelle Burak, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK*'s Franchise Development Manager: I started working at TWO MEN AND A TRUCK because of a friend who was working at the corporate office, and I thought I would be a good fit for the job. Before coming to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK, I was a pharmaceutical representative, and then transitioned into hospice care, where I communicated with several positions who all managed different aspects with end of life care. The skills I developed while working in hospice care have benefited me in the franchising world as I had to learn how to combine multiple groups together for the same purpose. In franchising, there are different business segments all working together to help someone start and grow a business.

1851: What makes you love the franchising industry?

Burak: The story behind each person. I love talking to people and hearing their stories, their background, and how they’ve gotten to where they are today. Everyone is unique in their own way. With franchising, it’s about finding the right business and brand that fits their personal goals and values, then supporting them in reaching their goals and helping grow their business, which can be extremely rewarding.

1851: What makes a great franchisee?

Burak: You have to be driven and have a strong work ethic. Opening a business requires you to deal with multiple spinning plates, from marketing to sales, human resources, operations, and customer service. You have to have the business acumen to balance all the moving parts in order to have a successful business.

1851: What’s the No. 1 thing that sells franchisees?

Burak: I think that the brand’s reputation and nationwide presence is very important to finding that needle in the haystack who aligns with our core values and is the right fit to open a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise.
