Buffalo Wings & Rings proved its commitment to giving back to communities it serves by hosting its second annual “Chip in for the Cause” limited time menu with proceeds benefiting breast cancer awareness and research. The company is proud to have raised $17,536 for the American Cancer Society through the fundraiser.

The menu featured pink tortilla chips, spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip and a signature pink cocktail, from October 2 through November 5. Buffalo Wings & Rings pledged to donate $1 for every LTO item ordered and the net proceeds from t-shirts purchased during the campaign directly to the American Cancer Society. The company made the initiative personal by inviting each guest who purchased any of the items to write the name of someone who inspired them on a dedicated pledge card in order to show support.

Nearly $8,000 was raised from t-shirt sales during the “Chip in for the Cause” promotion and more than $9,500 was raised through sales of the Buffalo Chicken Dip and Blushing Buffalo.

“We were thrilled with how our franchisees and our guests rallied behind this program for the second year in a row. We look forward to continuing to find ways to make a positive impact in the coming year,” Buffalo Wings & Rings Chief Executive Officer Nader Masadeh said.

Cancer has touched the lives of many of the Buffalo Wings and Rings* staff, franchisees and the company’s CEO. Buffalo Wings & Rings’ Vice President of Marketing Diane Matheson was diagnosed with cancer in February and says “Chip in for the Cause” is much more than a promotion but instead a way the brand can honor staff who are currently fighting cancer or passed away.

“This diagnosis has made this event very personal to me and I am even more committed to help support the fight against cancer. This is a cause that is very much close to our hearts,” Matheson said.

All 75+ Buffalo Wings & Rings locations participated in the promotion.

“A key brand differentiator for Buffalo Wings & Rings is our ongoing commitment to menu innovation and giving back to the communities we serve, and this program is the perfect marriage of those two focuses,” said Masadeh. “Throughout the year, all of our franchisees host fundraisers and other events to benefit a variety of charities, and we wanted to show our support by creating an initiative that brings all of our locations together in support of a worthy cause.”

Building on the continued positive response to initiatives like ‘Chip in for the Cause’ Buffalo Wings & Rings has many more events and campaigns planned for 2018.
