TechCrunch: Instagram will now add ‘Recommended’ posts to your feed
The feature currently in the process of being rolled out to users.
Instagram users will now experience a new mixture of content on their news feeds. According to a recent article in TechCrunch, the social media platform is introducing a new method of delivering recommended posts tailored to each user. They will be served in groups of three to five.
In the past, users were able to access recommended content through the explore function. Now, the platform is directly inserting these posts into the news feed. While users cannot choose to opt out of this function, they will be able to hide it for a limited time.
Instagram says that these posts will not be served until a user has exhausted the existing content on his or her own feed. The feature is still in the process of being rolled out to all users.
