This month, the West Coast restaurant chain known best for their overstuffed sandwiches, made some additions to their menu, and while most of Togo’s new items don’t come on bread, they are, as the brand’s slogan promises, every bit as big, fresh, and meaty as their sandwiches.

The new menu items, all of which are permanent additions at every Togo’s restaurant, are the Mediterranean Chicken Salad & Wrap, the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad & Wrap, and the Ultimate Veggie Wrap. Togo’s has long offered an array of delicious salad and wrap options, but Leslie Lopez, Togo’s director of brand management, says the new offerings are particularly enticing additions to the menu.

“We’re really excited about the new salads and wraps,” Lopez said. “We’ve always had great non-sandwich options, but the new options feature some amazing products, including a new rotisserie-style chicken, a really delicious, creamy new hummus, and an upgraded, more flavorful ranch dressing. Plus, the BBQ Ranch Chicken Salad & Wrap and the Mediterranean Chicken Salad & Wrap each come with 20 percent more chicken than our chicken salads used to offer. We expect these new items to be a big hit with Togo’s customers.”

While the Ultimate Veggie Wrap strays, at least literally, from the “meaty” component of their slogan, Togo’s has still managed to pack more bang for the buck into the vegetarian option by adding more of their new hummus as well as hand-mashed Hass avocados, roasted bell peppers, crumbled feta, sliced cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and creamy ranch dressing, all wrapped in a new soft spinach tortilla.

According to Glenn Lunde, Togo’s president, the new salad and wrap items represent the brand’s continued commitment to providing the most generous portions of fresh, high-quality ingredients in all of their menu items.

“As guests are looking for lighter but deliciously satisfying options, we wanted to elevate our line of salads and wraps with more flavor than ever before,” Lunde said. “Better ingredients, bigger protein portions, and bolder flavors will provide our customers the best Togo’s salads and wraps ever.”

It’s unlikely that Togo’s salads and wraps will completely steal the spotlight from the brand’s famously sizable sandwiches anytime soon (Togo’s purchases nearly five million loaves of fresh artisan bread every year to keep up with demand), but the new salad and wrap options serve as a delectable reminder that the brand’s non-sandwich options are every bit as impressive and satisfying as their sandwiches.

In addition to the new menu options, Togo’s offers a robust lineup of other salads and wraps, including the Santa Fe Chicken Salad & Wrap, with chicken, black bean & corn salsa, tomatoes, avocados, cheddar cheese, chili-lime tortilla strips, and spring mix; and the Asian Chicken Salad & Wrap, with chicken, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, green onions, wonton strips, sesame seeds, and Asian dressing. Every salad on the menu can also be ordered as a wrap, and all salads and wraps featuring chicken now include 20 percent more chicken than previously offered.
