Fast Casual: Slapfish prepping for first Maryland opening

Janjer Enterprises Inc. diversifies franchise portfolio by investing in the rapidly growing brand.

Slapfish will be opening its 13th location in Rockville, Maryland. According to a recent article in Fast Casual, this restaurant will serve as the company's first launch within the state. The location will be owned and operated by Janjer Enterprises Inc., a business run by Jan Strompf and Jerry Friedlander.

"When we first discovered Slapfish, we knew it was the perfect brand to invest in, and when we met chef Gruel, he really stood out to us as a long-term partner. Slapfish is a one-of-a-kind concept, and with our prime Rockville location near the Chesapeake Bay, where quality seafood is highly sought after, we are confident that locals will fall in love with the brand as we did," said Friedlander.

Janjer Enterprises Inc. currently runs 32 Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen locations. Slapfish will serve as an opportunity for the partners to branch out and pursue new investment opportunities.

Slapfish currently has 11 physical locations as well as the food truck that CEO and Founder Chef Andrew Gruel used when he started the business. The brand is positioned for rapid growth, with 150 development deals both internationally and domestically in the works.
