With larger fourth-quarter global sales, Domino’s is making it known that it is leading the industry.

The crown for the top pizza selling brand in the world now belongs to Domino’s Pizza. According to a recent AdAge article, its fourth-quarter earnings release announced it exceeded $12.2 billion in 2017, overtaking Pizza Hut, which reported global sales of $12.03 billion. While that may seem like a small lead, Domino’s is making it clear that the chain is now the top dog in the industry.

"Our terrific procurement team may have made sure that all of our supply partners are aware of the fact that we are the largest and expect to be treated that way. Fourth-quarter sales in the U.S. for Domino’s rose 4.2 percent, while Pizza Hut saw a much smaller increase of two percent. However, Pizza Hut still leads in the number of locations.
