Nation's Restaurant News: Little Caesars scores traffic spike with 'Crazy' promotion

The brand's March Madness free lunch deal brought in many new and returning customers.

Little Caesars is seeing success following the recent "If Crazy Happens" promotion. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, the brand offered a special free lunch deal following a major upset that occurred during the March Madness tournament when the University of Maryland Baltimore County beat the University of Virginia.

“The pizza chain generated a 154 percent lift in visits during the promotion while grabbing 2.95 percent of all LSR [limited-service restaurant] visits. The promotion also did a nice job bringing in new and lapsed guests, with over 52 percent of visitors during the promotion being either new or lapsed,” said Eli Portnoy, CEO of the research company Sense 360.

The promotion was available on April 2nd between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The promotion was popular enough to more than double their brand draw.
