Nation's Restaurant News: McDonald’s adds frozen cold-brew coffee drinks

The fast food franchise continues to make enhancements to their McCafé menu in order to compete with breakfast rival Dunkin' Donuts.

Nation's Restaurant News announced that starting today, Wednesday, June 13, McDonald's will be offering cold-brew frozen drinks for a limited time. Customers will be able to order a Cold Brew Frozen Coffee or a Cold Brew Frappe off the McCafé menu. McDonald's cold drinks have continued to be a great money maker for the fast food franchise due to the rise in popularity of cold drinks while other sales have continued to slip.

The article notes that the McCafé menu has been largely unchanged since it's debut in 2009, but the brand has worked to improve its offerings to better compete with its breakfast rival Dunkin' Donuts.

Coffee chains such as Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks have made it a point to offer LTOs in order to boost sales throughout the year. McDonald's continues to elevate their McCafé experience by outfitting locations with higher quality espresso machines and upgraded syrups free of artificial colors and flavors.
