The Pilot: Famous Toastery Serves Up Better Breakfast at New North Carolina Location

The leading better breakfast restaurant opened its doors for business in Southern Pines, NC.

Famous Toastery is making breakfast fans a happier bunch after opening its doors for business on August 12 at the Pavilion at Morganton Park in Southern Pines, NC.

Founder and CEO Robert Maynard said the Toastery brings a new dining experience to the Southern Pines and Pinehurst markets.

“I love the area. I love these towns. There are not a lot of people do what we do, and we feel we will fill a really good niche,” he said. “We are a casual place but this is where business deals will happen, where bridal showers will happen, and where soccer moms will hang out."

For local franchise owner Nasser Jarrah, it was love at first taste.

“One day my wife and I went to lunch at the Famous Toastery in Cary. I was very impressed with the food, the service and the upbeat atmosphere. We started talking about it — about owning our own location — on the spot,” he said. “We had been looking for an opportunity. The nature of my previous job required a lot of travel. I wanted to get off the road, and the Toastery was very impressive.”

Though he is a first-time restaurant owner, Jarrah brings with him 30 years’ experience in the industry. His wife, May, has partnered in the operation and also served as chief artist and interior decorator for the sun-filled space along Morganton Road.

“We are very excited. It is a different experience owning your own business and being able to execute to the level that you really want to. It is a lot more fun and hope it will be as awarding as it is fun also,” Jarrah said.
