For Buffalo Wings & Rings, the nation’s leading club-level restaurant franchise with 70 units globally, expansion isn’t a random process. Instead, the brand’s growth efforts are all part of an extensive and well thought out strategy that ultimately sets its franchisees up for success.

When Buffalo Wings & Rings makes the decision to open its doors in a new market, it often already has a strong presence in the area. A perfect example of this strategic growth initiative is Indiana—the brand currently has six restaurants operating in different cities across the state. And now, in order to capitalize on that brand awareness and take it to the next level, Buffalo Wings & Rings is actively targeting a new community for development: Indianapolis.

“By focusing our development efforts on specific regions and expanding from one central location, we’re able to build up a level of recognition and customer loyalty that other restaurant concepts are lacking,” said Philip Schram, chief development officer for Buffalo Wings & Rings. “We’re excited to continue this proven growth strategy by making Indianapolis our new home. The city is perfectly positioned for the Buffalo Wings & Rings brand—we’re confident that our franchisees will be able to hit the ground running as soon as they sign on to open up their own restaurant.”

Indianapolis is a natural extension for Buffalo Wings & Rings. With locations in Southeast Indiana, Chicago and Cincinnati, the city falls in the middle of a region that’s already familiar with the brand. That means that as families hit the road and travel down the highway to a new community, they’ll be on the lookout to grab a delicious and affordable bite to eat at Buffalo Wings & Rings. Indianapolis is also ideal for the brand because it offers numerous opportunities for franchisees to open their doors in suburban areas filled with retail stores and shopping centers, which houses Buffalo Wings & Rings’ ideal consumer base.

With a metro population of more than 1.9 million people and a cost of living that falls 6.5 percent below the national average, according to Forbes, Indianapolis also offers Buffalo Wings & Rings a promising business economy. The city was also ranked in the top 10 of the publication’s list of best places for businesses and careers, opening the door for aspiring entrepreneurs to make their dreams of business ownership a reality.

When franchisees decide to take that leap and open their own Buffalo Wings & Rings location, the brand guides them throughout the entire grand opening process. From site selection all the way through to the first customer served, the brand goes above and beyond to ensure that its franchisees are on the right path.

“Our main goal, first and foremost, is to support our local business owners in any way that we can. At the end of the day, our system is only as strong as our franchisees. We’re all in this business together,” said Schram. “Going forward into the end of 2016 and beyond, Buffalo Wings & Rings will continue to pave the way for its business partners and raise the bar in the restaurant franchise industry as a whole.”
