Jason and Wendy Olsen have always been passionate about everything they do. And whether they’re catering, serving or cooking, BBQ is no exception.

Growing up, Wendy’s father built portable pig smokers by hand, and catered to many organizations and individuals as a hobby. She grew up watching how good food and great relationships were made through her mom and dad. Jason had a similar experience through a family-owned food packaging store in Clinton, Iowa.

Living in Fayetteville, North Carolina for over 30 years, the Olsens have long been tapped into their community, and they saw firsthand just how much Southern hospitality reigned supreme in everything their hometown did—including food. So when the husband and wife duo decided it was time to realize their dream of opening a business together, they knew exactly which direction to turn to—Woody’s Bar-B-Q. Rooted in more than 30 years of tradition, Woody’s Bar-B-Q has long brought some of the best smoky flavors of the South to Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Colorado. And the Olsens were eager to bring the brand’s fall-off-the-bone, signature baby back ribs and their welcoming “the guest always comes first” philosophy to North Carolina.

To make their franchising dreams a reality, the Olsens were connected with BoeFly through Woody’s Bar-B-Q and worked with a financing specialist to secure an SBA loan from a lender they had never heard of before.

“By becoming Woody’s Bar-B-Q franchise owners, we were finally achieving our dream of becoming business owners and putting our hard work to the test,” Jason said. “We were nervous about the financing process since we had never looked for a business loan before, but luckily Woody’s Barb-B-Q directed us to BoeFly. We would recommend BoeFly to anyone who is in need of financing.”

Woody’s Bar-B-Q currently has more than 30 locations, and they’re consistently ranked as one of the best barbecue chains in the country. Founded by Woody Mills nearly three decades ago, today the brand is best known for its authentic take on one of the South’s greatest dining traditions—hometown barbecue shacks. With a strong focus on family, Woody’s serves only the finest cuts of pork and beef and the freshest vegetables. And everything they dish up is accompanied by their original, secret barbecue sauce recipe and freshly-prepared side dishes. Every Woody’s location is also special, each with its own hometown atmosphere.

“At Woody’s Bar-B-Q, we believe that a successful franchisee will possess attributes and qualities that closely relate to our mission statement: To serve our guests with the freshest, highest-quality food possible all while providing friendly service in a sparkling clean environment and corporate culture,” said Woody Mills, the co-founder and CEO of Woody’s Bar-B-Q. “We’re very pleased with how BoeFly was able to assist the financing needs of Jason and Wendy Olsen, our new Woody’s Bar-B-Q franchisees.”

The Olsens have plans to open their first Woody’s Bar-B-Q location in Lumberton, North Carolina this fall.

“The BoeFly team is proud to have supported Jason and Wendy Olsen in securing the financing they needed to become Woody’s Bar-B-Q franchisees,” said Mike Rozman, CEO of BoeFly. “We value our relationship with Woody’s Bar-B-Q as they are a leader in supporting franchisees and helping them achieve their potential.”
