Being the first to graduate from college in her family, Rosina Leblanc wanted to prove to everyone she oculd be successful. Being an entrepreneur by heart, she made the transition from a corporate role to being a franchisee to help expand the SylvanSync program at Sylvan Learning*.

Swampscott, Massachusetts does not only serve as LeBlanc’s new home but she serves as a legacy of the dynasty barbershop, Dick and Sons. This town’s legacy has been passed down from her great grandfather to her great uncles and is in close proximity of her new Sylvan location.

After graduating from Southern New Hampshire University and earning her bachelor’s in Psychology and minor in Business, LeBlanc worked as a counselor at Hampstead Hospital. Here she worked with troubled teens with psychiatric difficulties. Though she enjoyed what she was doing as a career, Leblanc wanted to venture into business ownership.

At the age of 26, LeBlanc opened After Glow Tanning Salon in Hudson, New Hampshire. After three years of success with her new business, the desire of putting her psychology background to use again was on her mind. LeBlanc made the decision to move to Chelmsford when she was contacted by Sylvan Learning to take over the corporate location there.

While still at the Chelmsford location, LeBlanc was promoted to Center Director and asked to take over and rehab the Woburn as a Center Director because it was the largest center in the district.  Within seven years, Leblanc had many diverse roles and responsibilities as Center Director of two corporate locations, such as, enrolling families and any marketing and accounting work the centers called for. The Woburn center grew under Leblanc’s watch, along with her expertise and educational commitment.

Seeing the Peabody location close and wanting to help with children, LeBlanc switched from center director to franchisee, opening two SylvanSync locations in Beverly and Swampscott.

How did you learn about the brand?

It’s funny; I have always been aware of Sylvan Learning and saw their commercials. My resume was on Monster and they reached out to me. When I was contacted, I started my research. I was most intrigued about how they invested themselves with technology to help students learn. I want to invest my time and money into it something I knew would be successful.

Why did you choose an opportunity with Sylvan?

I really liked how Sylvan implemented technology and is constantly changing with the times. For a business to be successful, it cannot be stagnant. Technology is such an important part of our lives today and I immediately feel in love with the SylvanSync program.

What are your goals for your business?

Of course to be successful; I want to really be accessible to the north shore and would like to expand to other towns. Ideally, I want to be the best resource for families can bring their children not just stay on level but to get ahead as well.
