A Charlotte-based breakfast restaurant chain plans to open five new outlets in the Charleston area, with the first two going to Summerville and North Charleston.
Famous Toastery founder and CEO Robert Maynard said the Summerville site should be announced soon, with the North Charleston location’s announcement to follow shortly afterward. He expects to have one open by this fall. Others are planned for Mount Pleasant and Charleston.
Maynard founded Famous Toastery in 2005 with business partner Brian Burchill. The chain serves breakfast, brunch and lunch as “the antithesis of a greasy spoon,” Maynard said.
