Daily Republic: Air Force Veteran Grounded in New Fairfield Business

After time spent in Germany serving in the Air Force, Bob Linda found himself back in pest control. There’s not much demand for munitions expertise in the civilian world, so he worked the night shift at a water service company. This was the first of a string of jobs that ended with Linda working at a local airport, dreaming of doing more.

Linda first looked into pest control franchises since they sat in an industry he knew well, but a franchise consultant encouraged him to look into Footprints Floors, a national flooring installation franchise.

Given that Bryan Park, the franchise’s founder, is an Air Force veteran, too, Linda was intrigued. He decided to head to Denver to meet the team.

"I loved every bit of it. They were really good people, who are family-oriented,” he told the Daily Republic.

After additional training with Footprints Floors and completing his local licensing, Linda is now providing flooring, tile and backsplash installation to the Fairfield and Napa communities, and he has been able to return to the military community, too.

"A lot of my neighbors are servicemen, so my kids are going to school with Air Force brats, and I think that is pretty cool," he said.
