Food and Beverage Franchises: Franchise Relations Key to Success

A laser focus on people, brand, and unit-level economics – helping drive bottom line profits for franchisees, not just top line sales – is a common thread with many of the award-winning brands in the food and beverage sector.

Say the word “franchise” and most people immediately think food. “Food” is synonymous with franchising, and the food sector is one of the largest and most popular industries for people to consider when thinking about investing in a franchise.

Because of the industry’s popularity, franchise brands are competing for the attention of candidates looking for a strong investment, despite the challenges inherent in the food industry - strong competition, fickle consumer tastes, fluctuating food costs, labor challenges, operational complexities...just to name a few.

Every year, Franchise Business Review surveys thousands of franchisees from over a hundred different food and beverage brands to identify the Top Food and Beverage Franchises.

Research shows franchisors that demonstrate high franchisee satisfaction are driving double-digit growth by making franchisee performance and success their top priority. Not surprisingly, these brands are outpacing the competition.

“In the last few years, we’ve seen a marked improvement in franchisee satisfaction within the food and beverage sector,” says Eric Stites, CEO of Franchise Business Review. “Over 70% of food and beverage franchisees we surveyed last year said they would recommend their brand to other franchisee candidates, which is a strong indicator of business owner satisfaction.”

Only the top-rated brands, based exclusively on our satisfaction research with franchisees, make our list of award-winning opportunities. For candidates choosing an investment option, our annual awards list dramatically narrows down the list of potentials. This recognition tells prospective buyers that an independent research firm has identified these as brands that care about relationships, their franchisees’ performance, and treating franchisees like the business partners they truly are.

Research for our 2018 list of the Top Food and Beverage Franchises is currently underway. To qualify for the list, franchises must register for a survey by June 30.
