QSR recently published its annual list of the 9 Best Franchise Deals, and for the second year in a row, they partnered with Franchise Business Review to include franchisee satisfaction as one of the criteria.
The article notes that prospective franchisees no longer rely solely on financial metrics before making a decision to invest. While things like startup costs, sales trends, overall fee load, and return on investment are obviously important, franchise candidates today - in the QSR sector and beyond - are factoring in things like: Are franchisees happy? Is the brand on trend and relevant? Is corporate truly committed to the success of its franchise partners or just blowing smoke?
Brands that made the list include: Arby’s, Captain D’s, Checkers & Rally’s, Donatos Pizza, Kona Ice, Penn Station East Coast Subs, Smoothie King, Wingstop, and Zoup!.
“The reality is that the financials always have to work for any franchise model to be successful, but it’s also true that many of the most successful franchisors have established themselves as true, empathetic partners who understand the human side of the business just as well as the numbers,” says Eric Stites, CEO and managing director of Franchise Business Review.
