Holiday hiring to be robust According to Snagajob’s seventh annual Holiday Hiring Survey, the outlook for seasonal hiring during the 2014 holiday shopping season is solid. Out of 1,009 U.S. employers that participated in the survey, 89 percent of companies will be adding the same amount of additional staff as last year or plan to hire more seasonal workers than they did in 2013. (From FastCasual.com) Domino’s kicks off National Pizza Month From Sept. 29 through the end of October, Domino’s Pizza is offering a $5.99 large two-topping pizza carryout special. This is just in time for National Pizza Month in October. Domino’s is hoping this will encourage more customers to come into its stores and see their pizzas being made in the new “pizza theater” prototype. The pizza theater design features a comfortable lobby and an open-area viewing of the food being prepared, and customers can track their orders electronically on a lobby screen. (From QSR Magazine) Sky Zone partners with Giuliana Rancic for Breast Cancer Awareness Month The indoor trampoline franchise Sky Zone has partnered with Giuliana Rancic, “E! News” host and breast cancer survivor, for a Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotion. Sky Zone will raise money for the organization FAB-U-WISH with The Pink Agenda by selling a limited-edition, pink SkySock. For every pair sold during the month, a percentage will be donated to the charity. (From Franchising.com) Dunkin’ pumped for National Coffee Day Dunkin’ Donuts introduced its new line of pre-packaged grab-and-go options Sept. 26 at its more than 7,500 locations in the United States. They will also be offering their new branded Dunkin’ Go Bar, a chewy granola bar that features the chain’s coffee flavor and has 220 calories and 7 grams of protein. It will be available at select restaurants beginning Sept. 29, to coincide with National Coffee Day. (From QSRWeb.com) Franchise rolls out food truck Down Under Australian franchise Hudsons Coffee is getting into the food truck scene with its mobile restaurant offering hot and cold beverages and a slightly condensed menu. The tricked-out 1970s Citroen H Van is part of Hudsons’ growth plan to offer a fun, unique alternative to a shopping mall kiosk. The company is planning on expanding this model after the first food truck gets rolling. (From Franchising)
