Home services franchise Home Clean Heroes* knows a little something about heroic service. The brand’s mission—to defend its customers’ free time so they can focus on the things that matter most—drives everything Home Clean Heroes does. It’s no surprise, then, that the cleaning service franchise launched the “Who’s Your Superhero?” campaign last year to celebrate the many exceptional figures in our daily lives.

Anyone can nominate a hero: As the campaign’s website says, “Not all heroes wear capes; and this year, we want to learn about yours. Whether a teacher, first responder, or even a family friend, let us know about a person in your life who you believe is worthy of the hero moniker and how they fit that persona on a daily basis.” The submissions are then considered by a panel of judges and the winner is announced. Both the winner and the individual that nominated them receive a complimentary house cleaning. If the winner is a teacher, they can opt to have their classroom cleaned for free as part of the package.

Kathy Turley is Director of Marketing at Home Clean Heroes. She shared that the timing of the campaign is fairly fortuitous.

“April 28 was National Superhero Day,” Turley said, referring to the celebratory day introduced by Marvel in 1995. “It also dovetails nicely with our anniversary—it’s when Home Clean Heroes started two years ago.”

Since then, Home Clean Heroes has enriched its franchise opportunity to position franchisees for success and participated in a host of other philanthropic initiatives including Heroes Fighting Hunger, a campaign which benefited the South East Food Bank of Virginia.

“We collected over 260 meals worth of canned foods,” Turley said. “This year’s campaign is over, but in May, we will participate in the corporate drive.”

Home Clean Heroes has also teamed up with Cleaning for a Reason, an international nonprofit serving women with cancer, to provide complimentary cleaning services to two homes per month for two consecutive months a year.

According to Turley, these initiatives perfectly align with the Home Clean Heroes brand.

“At Home Clean Heroes, we have a pretty good philanthropic outlook about what we do. If you think about what it is, fundamentally, that we offer our clients—we go into someone’s home, save their day, save them from cleaning,” Turley said. “Our mission is to defend our customers’ free time so they can spend it on the things that matter most to them. Celebrating community heroes is right in line with that.”

When asked why Home Clean Heroes feels that supporting the community is important, Turley was concise but clear.

“Why?” Turley said. “Because it’s just the right thing to do.”
