Nation's Restaurant News: Can anti-carb Zoodles save Noodles & Co.?

In an effort to boost sales, the brand will introduce the carb-free alternative nationwide in May.

In order to compensate for declining sales, Noodles & Company is looking to menu innovation as a solution. According to a recent article in Nation's Restaurant News, the brand will be launching zucchini noodles–known as noodles–on its menus nationwide.

“Zucchini noodles have the opportunity to increase frequency, bring lapsed users back to the brand, and introduce the brand to new guests who may have avoided us in the past due to dietary preferences,” said CEO Dave Boennighausen.

This new option will introduce a carb-free alternative for diners to enjoy. It is set to be rolled out to all locations in May and will be available for substitution into any pasta dish on the menu.

Other efforts to increase sales include decor updates. Noodles & Company will implement a new color scheme to make the restaurant more approachable to consumers. It will also expand its current delivery availability.
