Nation’s Restaurant News: Krystal Names Paul Macaluso CEO

The Krystal Company has named a new CEO. Paul Macaluso, who previously served as president of McAlister’s Deli, is stepping into the role. As a recent article in Nation’s Restaurant News notes, Macaluso is replacing Omar Janjua, who left the brand last month to take on the CEO position at Taco Bueno Restaurants L.P.

Macaluso is bringing years of restaurant experience to the table in his new role. He started his career with Taco Bell and has worked for Sonic Drive-Ins and Burger King Corp. Macaluso says that as he starts this new role, he’s going to be focused on regaining share with customers for the Krystal brand.

In a statement cited by Nation’s Restaurant News, Macaluso said, “Krystal is the original challenger brand and we’re going to make sure we regain share of minds and hearts with our guests.”
