QSR Magazine: Carl’s Jr. Serving Beer, Wine at First Manhattan Location

The franchise opens its newest location with a theatrical twist.

Carl's Jr. has officially opened its doors in Manhattan across the street from Madison Square Garden. According to a recent article in QSR Magazine, the location offers a unique menu feature: a selection of local and national beer and wine options for guests. This offering will allow the brand to target a larger consumer base with its new restaurant.

"Manhattan is a city with a big personality. We feel our brand has a larger than life personality, too, and a high-quality, great-tasting menu to match," said CEO Jason Marker, on the brand's decision to enter the New York City market.

The grand opening featured prizes for the first 200 customers. According to the article, one of the more interesting prizes given out was a set of tickets to see the brand's own show, 'Written in the Stars.'

This off-Broadway production stars the mascot, Happy Star, as the protagonist. It chronicles the brand's journey from California all the way to NYC. The unique and theatrical approach to emphasizing an opening is drawing big buzz for the franchise.
