Ruby Tuesday finds local inspiration for their Hawaii restaurants

In 2001, business partners Rick Nakashima and Ted Davenport opened up Hawaii’s first Ruby Tuesday restaurant. 16 years later, Davenport and Nakashima have opened up four more Ruby Tuesday locations in Hawaii, and each has proven a big hit in the Aloha state. 

A number of Ruby Tuesday’s menu items feature island-inspired flavors, including their enormously popular Mango Kiawe ribs, and all of the Hawaii restaurants are decked out with local flair.

Check it out, next time you visit: All of Ruby Tuesday’s five Hawaii locations feature island photos and memorabilia, much of them unique to the surrounding communities. Depending on the location, you might find old LPs by Gabby Pahinui, Don Ho, or Danny Kaleikini; sports memorabilia from Olympic gold medal decathlete Bryan Clay or UH Rainbow Wahine volleyball champion Sista Palakiko; and military photos shared by officers who happen to be regular customers.
