Lisa Kornstein, original founder of Scout & Molly’s and chief operating officer of Scout FranLogic Development LLC, has maintained a healthy work-life balance since becoming a business owner in 2002.

In addition to operating a boutique franchise clothing brand, Kornstein is also an active volunteer with the National MS Society, a cause near and dear to her heart after she herself was diagnosed with the disease more than six years ago.

Kornstein sat down with The Huffington Post to discuss how she maintains a well-rounded lifestyle despite business ownership and motherhood, also touching on leadership, philanthropy and personal challenges.

“I sometimes think self-confidence is the root of a lot of issues for women in the workplace. If others doubt you or you are constantly having to fight for an advantage, like many women are faced with, you can get worn down and start second guessing yourself. I think always remembering to keep fighting and never give up, never let anything get in your way is a powerful notion. Believing in yourself is key,” said Kornstein.
