With a secure foothold in the South, Smoothie King
is climbing the Eastern seaboard with their sights set on making New Jersey the brand’s next hub for growth.
“New Jersey is the perfect market for us, especially in this stage of our growth,” said Stephen Foley, franchise development manager for Smoothie King
. “We already have a brand presence here and it is a compact market from a population density standpoint. This state is filled with the active lifestyle minded people who are looking for healthier alternatives to fast food.”
Smoothie King has 12 open locations in New Jersey with a few additional locations in development. Multi-unit owner in New Jersey, David Diamant, recently opened his third location and is trailblazing growth of the brand in the state.
Diamant earned his degree in exercise science with plans to open a gym, but after working for a gym for a few years, he realized it wasn’t the business he wanted to be in. He began to search for a concept he could grow and eventually became the first New Jersey franchisee in 2002.
“We just opened our third location in Aberdeen and we had close to 500 smoothies out the door during our grand opening,” said Diamant. “We have plans to open additional locations with preliminary plans to have our fourth location in Monmouth County, but we will take it one step at a time. New Jersey is the perfect market for Smoothie King.”
With the success the brand has seen in New Jersey, it is making another big push in the market by hosting two open houses in December to show potential franchisees exactly why Smoothie King is an ideal opportunity for health forward entrepreneurs. The events will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Smoothie King at 1150 White Horse Rd. in Voorhees, NJ 08043 and on Thursday, December 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Smoothie King at 1121 Hwy 34, Suite C in Aberdeen, NJ 07747.
“We have such a unique opportunity in New Jersey because our real estate team has prime, drive-thru ready locations already available, but we need franchisees to fill them” said Foley. “We’re excited to be able to meet with candidates in New Jersey who are ready to take the next steps in changing their lives and make the community a healthier place to be.”
