About SoBol

Inspired by his family’s successful ice house, Jason Mazzarone created the Acai Café in 2012. Since then, SoBol has grown steadily. Jason took his culinary arts degree and background as a chef and teamed up with Jim Kalomiris who has more than 20 years experience in restaurant management, real estate and construction and developed SoBol into the franchised brand it is today. These co-founders found a niche in the quick casual market and are now poised to grow quickly through franchise development.

While Acai bowls were first in demand by yoga enthusiasts and Southern California surfers for an energy boosting meal, our customers span all ages, demographics and lifestyles. Since 2014, when SoBol first opened their doors, Acai has grown in popularity as a heart-healthy, Vitamin C boosting antioxidant rich food creating a business opportunity for today and the future.

How Much Can You Make?

As with every franchise opportunity, success is a combination of the industry demand, the franchise system/model, and each individual owner’s efforts and work ethic. SoBol is selective in its franchisee awarding process so that they can ensure they are partnering with individuals that share their core values, their mission, and their willingness to do what it takes to be successful. SoBol does have a detailed Item 19 with revenue and expense numbers in it's Franchise Disclosure Document. For more information, click here.

What is the Investment?

Start-up costs to open a SoBol vary from market to market based primarily on the cost of real estate. The overall investment ranges from $174,800 to $249,500. This includes a one-time franchise fee of $25,000. If you are looking at their Development Agreement, that investment ranges from $189,800 to $264,500.  As with most franchises, they do collect a 5% royalty on gross sales to cover their ongoing training and support, and for continuing use of the franchise license, marks, etc. More information can be found in the Item 7 of SoBol's Franchise Disclosure Document.
