TechCrunch: Domino’s and Starship Technologies Will Deliver Pizza by Robot in Europe This Summer

Robots will start to deliver pizzas for Domino’s in Hamburg, Germany.

The food delivery robots are on their way and Domino’s is ready to be one of the first companies to serve hot and fresh pizzas this way. According to a recent TechCrunch article, the brand has teamed up with Starship Technologies in a partnership to use its “personal delivery devices” in Hamburg, Germany this summer.

While these robots may not look like the typical humanoid picture you would imagine, the self-driving food cart will move at 4 miles per hour and will only be delivering within a one-mile radius to start.

State and federal laws in the U.S. on robot delivery are still to be determined but many more retailers and restaurants are hoping to get in on the action if testing is successful.
