The Baltimore Sun: Checkers & Rally's Hopes to Open Over 40 Locations in Baltimore

Baltimore is a strong market for the fast-food chain and the brand hopes to open as many as 41 locations in the next decade.

Checkers* & Rally's is looking to significantly ramp up development in the Baltimore area over the next 10 years, with room to add 41 locations.

According to The Baltimore Sun, the brand is selective in the process of choosing development markets, and due to the consistent success Checkers & Rally's has observed in Baltimore over the years it has been deemed a top area for growth.

"When we look to grow and where we’re going to expand, we’re very careful where we do it," Checkers & Rally's Director of Franchise Development, John Palumbo told The Baltimore Sun.

Motivated franchisees largely contribute to the decision to develop in a market, and Checkers & Rally's has two Baltimore area locations that broke the $2 million in sales mark this past year.

"I’m very encouraged by what I’ve seen in Baltimore over the last couple of months," Checkers & Rally's Franchisee, Phil Dorsey told The Baltimore Sun. "I think the city’s sending a very strong message that it’s open for business."
