The Bartlett Express: Bartlett Lenny's Subs Gives Back

Franchisees connect to close-knit community through hosting fundraising events.

The Lenny's Subs in Bartlett, Tenn. has always made it a priority to give back to the close-knit town of Bartlett. Since September, the location has raised money for local schools through spirit nights and fundraisers and on Jan. 24, the restaurant hosted another spirit night and raised $332.85 for Bartlett Elementary's literacy fund, which encourages student reading. Lenny's general manager, Mike Redus says it's important to play an active role in the community.

“We’d like to help raise funds for the schools, especially the arts, and this is a way to help the schools," Redus told The Bartlett Express. “We’re making guests for life [...] We’re giving back to the community that has given so much to us.”

In 2017, the location plans to give back $6,000 to the town through fundraisers benefiting schools, churches and other organizations. The Lenny's in Bartlett opened 18 years back and is famous for its signature Philly cheesesteak and subs.

“People come to Lenny’s for the food,” Redus told The Bartlett Express. “They come back for us.”
