Chicken wings are more popular than ever with American consumers.
Brewer Stouffer, founder and chief executive of The Roman Candle, says the brand first introduced its inaugural wings program in February. The chain's baked wings come from chickens raised in a cage-free environment, are gluten and trans fat free and are made with a variety of scratch-made sauces.
Stouffer says he expects wings to approach the 10 percent sales mark very rapidly.
“Wings are becoming an item you can eat in upscale restaurants as appetizers, at the ballgame, at pizza operations, anywhere,” he says. “Americans love their wings.”
