Wendy's capitalizes on hot food trend, announces Bacon and Blue on Brioche

In an attempt to capitalize on the hottest food trend of 2015, Wendy's is adding blue cheese to the menu with the addition of the new, limited-time-offer Bacon and Blue on Brioche burger, the brand's latest premium menu offering. “With specialty ingredients and robust flavors like artisan Wisconsin blue cheese crumbles, our new Bacon and Blue on Brioche will awaken the hamburger connoisseur in all of us,” said Liz Geraghty, Wendy’s vice president of marketing in a release. “We’re continuing to deliver consumers culinary-inspired flavors and new premium hamburgers they’ve come to expect from Wendy’s.” The brand describes the burger as containing "premium ingredients, including savory, artisan Wisconsin blue cheese crumbles," which according to the National Restaurant Association's, "What's Hot in 2015" list, is a top trend this year. In order to promote the new burger, the brand is turning to tongue-in-cheek online videos spotlighting consumer's love for blue cheese with a Blue Cheese Pinata, Blue Cheese Commemorative Coin and a Blue Cheese Scented Candle.
